Some here and some there

The last few weeks not much has happened here on X3 magazine. Not that there is nothing to show but I have been a bit too busy to spend much time on the magazine. In europe this is now the season for weddings and we are very busy with that.

Besides that we took on a personal project that I can’t say much about at the moment but that is taking up all of our time. I hope to resume more regular updating of this site in a couple of weeks when everything settles down a bit.

New lenses

In the meantime Sigma Corporation has not been sitting still of course. Two new lenses started shipping (or will be soon), the MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM and the 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 II DG HSM. And for both lenses they put a sample image gallery online with all shots taken by the Sigma SD1.

50th Anniversary

It seems like they are not making a big fuss about it but Sigma Corporation celebrated their 50th Anniversary on the 9th of September. They released only a very short statement about it:

Dear Valued Customers,
Sigma Corporation celebrates 50th Anniversary on 9th of September, 2011.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation for customers, business partners, and all concerned for your continuous support from the day of establishment until today.

Kazuto Yamaki
Chief Operating Officer

We congratulate Sigma with this reached milestone and wish them a prosperous future.

The 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM won the EISA European Lens of the Year 2011-2012 Award. Quote:”… that offers professional features and exceptionally good image quality at a very reasonable price.” You can watch the visual citation at EISA’s website:
